Welcome

Welcome! We are glad that you are visiting our program site. You have chosen a perfect time to show interest in Counseling. Nationally, school counselors and counselor educators continue to make positive impact in public K-12 schools and in Higher Education settings, respectively. The Counselor Education program offers two graduate-level programs: 1) the program in school counseling,  leading to a Master of Arts degree in Education, and 2) the program in school counseling leading to a Sixth-Year Diploma. All Counselor Education programs emphasize educational equity, social justice, and academic access and opportunity as related to eliminating cultural oppression. The Counselor Education program admits students once per year beginning in the fall. Please note that applications for admission beginning in the fall are due December 1st. Further information can be found in the section entitled “Future Students”. If you have further questions please contact the Program Coordinator, Dr. Rachelle Pérusse, rachelle.perusse@uconn.edu or 860-486-0266.
